Our History

A well-attended field auction of farm machinery.

A lively afternoon at an early indoor auction.

Martin Auctioneers’ roots goes back to the late 1800s when William Z. Martin, Sr. started livestock and farm machinery auctions on his property located on the corner of North Railroad Avenue and Spruce Street in New Holland, PA.

His eldest son, Paul Z. Martin, Sr. followed in his father’s footsteps by graduating and teaching at Reppert’s School of Auctioneering. Paul Sr. became a reputable and recognized auctioneer in Lancaster County, conducting many farm, real estate and personal property auctions.

In 1971, Paul and his three sons formed Martin Auctioneers, Inc. Presently, Paul Z. Martin, Jr., owner and President, has a full-time staff including Auctioneers Roger Spencer and Patrick K. Morgan; Vice President and Office Manager Shirley Morgan; Bookkeeper Mary Stauffer; and Receptionist Pam Lafferty.
